1. Bonds → GE gold

A Bond costs $6.99 from Jagex. You can sell it on the Grand Exchange for GP. As of 2026 a Bond trades for roughly 8-10M depending on the week.

• Cost: $6.99 for ~9M
• Effective rate: ~$0.78/M

This is the "official" way and it's completely ban-proof. But it's the most expensive option by far — nearly 3x the price of a gold site. People use it for the safety, not the price.

[!note] Bond prices fluctuate When membership demand is high, Bond GP value rises (so the rate improves slightly). When everyone's buying Bonds to convert, the GP value drops. It rarely gets below ~$0.55/M effective.

2. Grinding it yourself

"Free," right? Not really. Your time has value. Let's say a solid money-making method nets 4M/hour (a realistic mid-level rate — some methods do more, most do less).

If you value your time at even a minimum-wage-ish $10/hour:

• 4M/hour at $10/hour = $2.50/M in time cost

Even at a generous 8M/hour, that's $1.25/M. Grinding is only "cheap" if your time is worth nothing. For most working adults, buying is dramatically cheaper than grinding — that's the whole reason the market exists.

3. Gold site — crypto payment

This is where real savings are. A reputable crypto-only seller runs around $0.27-0.30/M for OSRS as of 2026.

Player-to-player on Sythe with a middleman can get you slightly below site prices — sometimes $0.25-0.27/M — because there's no business overhead.

But: you take on more risk (scams, no refund policy, no support), you pay a middleman fee (typically 1-2%), and you're dealing with individuals whose reliability varies wildly. The savings are marginal and the risk is real.
